増富地域の特産の花豆を使ったパン
花豆を使った「花豆パン」は、増富ラジウム温泉の隠れた人気商品。あちこちの店で自家製パンとして売られている。花豆は山梨県北部の増富地域の特産品で、瑞牆山の麓、標高約1000mの地で育てられている。大粒で紫と黒のまだら模様のとてもきれいな豆で、県内では、おせち料理や、おこわ、お茶請けとしてポピュラーな食材となっている。大きな花豆が入ったパンは、生地と花豆のしつこくない甘さがベストマッチ。食べ応えも十分だ。

温泉のあれこれ

信玄を癒した隠し湯のひとつ
武田信玄の隠し湯と伝えられる温泉は、20数ヶ所もある。増富ラジウム温泉も、武田信玄が金山開発中に発見した隠し湯であるという。信玄は武田家の当主となってからは、支配下にある地域の温泉を篤く保護した。川中島合戦の際の傷病兵や甲州金山採掘の鉱夫たちのけがや病気の湯治場として、この温泉が利用されていた。信玄自身もかなりの温泉好きだったようで、結核を患っていたと推測される信玄は、温泉治療をしていたと思われる。
