満天の星を望む野趣あふれる露天風呂
秘湯で知られる奥鬼怒温泉郷の手白澤温泉の露天風呂では、沢音や虫の音、鹿の鳴き声、風や木々が揺れる音という静寂の中の自然音を楽しめる。さらには標高1400mに位置する山の一軒宿のため空気も澄んで都会の明かりに邪魔されない。そのため、岩造りの露天風呂からは降り注ぐような満天の星空と、白く輝く月がきれいに見られる。これを目当てに天文写真を撮りに来る客も少なくない。

温泉のあれこれ

原生林と滝が魅力の鬼怒沼トレッキング
女夫渕温泉から日光沢温泉を経由し鬼怒沼に至るルートは、人気のトレッキングコース。途中の展望台から眺めるオロオソロシの滝は、遠く黒々とした原生林に白い滝が一筋流れ落ちて印象的。大小48の池塘が点在する鬼怒沼は、標高2039m。周辺がシラビソの森となっていて、鬼怒沼湿原と合わせて国立公園特別保護地区指定。このコースは途中で湯沢峠から丸沼に向かうルートも選べ、展望台から見るヒナタオソロシの滝は雄大そのもの。
