Tourist Attraction Information

From the hot spring town, you can take a ropeway up to Maruyama. The main attraction is the Kinugawa River Line boat ride, and other facilities such as Ryuokyo and Nikko Edo Village are also nearby.

It was said to be effective for treating burns, and along with Kawaji Onsen to the north, it was known as "Kawaji for wounds, waterfall for burns (now Kinugawa Onsen)."

温泉の名物

店ごとに趣向を凝らした温泉まんじゅう
鬼怒川温泉の温泉まんじゅうは、種類が多いのが自慢。その理由は、すべて店舗ごとに趣向を凝らしているから。黒ごまと食炭を生地に練り込んだ真っ黒なものや、まんじゅうの上に蜜漬けの梅を乗せ、下の生地に栗と細かく砕いた栗粒を入れたもの、栗を乗せた赤飯を、ほんのり甘いまんじゅう生地で包んだものなど、見た目の違いだけでなく、口にしてもそれぞれ異なる味の温泉まんじゅうを楽しむことができる。

温泉のあれこれ

健脚自慢なら五橋めぐりで温泉街を散策
鬼怒川温泉街に架かる5つの橋を巡るスタンプラリーが、毎年4月から翌年3月まで開催されている。約6kmの距離で、歩いて約2時間。盾岩橋からの高さ100mの盾岩、スリル満点の吊り橋の滝見橋、温泉街の最北部に架かる鬼怒岩橋など、それぞれの橋から異なった景観が楽しめる。スタンプが押し終わったスタンプ帳を観光情報センターに持っていくと、ミニ記念手形がもらえる。湯浴みとともに楽しむ散策もまた一興だ。
