温泉の名物

そのボリュームに「げんなり」するすし
「げんなり寿司」は、結婚式や七五三、成人式といった祝いの日に作られる、稲取の郷土料理で、その大きさと量に、食べると「げんなり」することから名付けられたとされる。基本は、金目鯛で作った紅白のおぼろに、マグロの赤身、大きなしいたけの煮付け、卵焼きといった5種のネタがのった四角いすしが1セットとなったもの。和食屋などで食べられるので、げんなりするか試してみたい。

温泉のあれこれ

つるし飾り発祥の地、稲取地区
江戸時代後期から伝わる稲取地方の風習に、「雛のつるし飾り」がある。ひな人形の代わりに手作りの人形を飾ったのが始まりとされ、長女の初節句に、無病息災・良縁を祈願して、雛壇の両脇に細工を吊るす。現代では、桃（長寿）、猿っ子（魔除け）、三角（薬袋香袋）を基本として50種の細工がある。1999年に稲取温泉旅館協同組合が中心となり、観光の目玉として「雛のつるし飾りまつり」が開催されて以降、全国でブームとなった。
