シンプルゆえにおいしい「北川あじ鮨」
北川では、アジは1年を通して安定して獲れる魚なので、地元では馴染みがある魚。「北川あじ鮨」は、北川沖で獲れた、この新鮮なアジのみを使った郷土料理。酢で締めずに、一口サイズに握った握りずし。しょうが・ねぎ・大葉など、各家庭で工夫を凝らした薬味が、アジのおいしさを引き立てる。食堂や旅館でも、これを「北川あじ鮨ランチ」として味わえ、協賛する8軒それぞれで、こだわりの味を提供している。

温泉のあれこれ

野性的な開放感と優しい泉質の露天風呂
海沿いの岩場に湧く、人気の公営混浴露天風呂が「黒根岩風呂」。海抜0mの波打ち際にあり、水平線と同じ目線で湯に浸かる感覚は、極楽そのもの。ときには湯船に波しぶきが飛び込んでくることもある。ほんのり塩味の優しい泉質の温泉で、目の前には伊豆大島が見える。自然岩で造られた2つの湯船の混浴露天風呂は、水着が着用できないため、「女性専用タイム」が設定されている。円形の湯船の女性専用露天風呂もある。
