Oysters from Lake Kamo, grown in the Sea of Japan and the clear, cool freshwater
Lake Kamo is a brackish lake where the clear freshwater from the Osado Mountains mixes with the waters of the Sea of Japan, which are rich in phytoplankton, and because of this favorable environment, oysters grow quickly; whereas typical farmed oysters take 2-3 years to grow and be shipped, these oysters can be shipped at the young stage of just one year. They are characterised by not having the typical sea smell of oysters, and have firm flesh and a strong flavour, so in winter you can enjoy fresh shelled oysters in the oyster huts.
