温泉の名物

胃腸をいたわる名湯で炊いた「温泉粥」
白骨温泉は、飲用することで穏やかに消化器の血流を促し、体のサイクルを整えるという。少し渋みのある温泉で炊いたお粥は、お米の甘みを引き立て、まろやかな味になる。当初は宿泊客の要望に応えて朝食に供されていたが、次第に評判を呼び、地域の名物として定着した。今では「温泉粥コロッケ」や「温泉粥おやき」と、新メニューも登場している。

温泉のあれこれ

各宿ごとの泉質や謂れが現れた「湯号」
10数ヶ所の源泉が湧く白骨温泉。泉質はそれぞれ繊細に異なった特色があり、白骨温泉の全ての旅館やホテルは、湯の個性や謂れから”号”が名付けられ、「湯号」でも呼ばれ、識別できる。「湯元」をはじめ、肌に文字が書けるほどきめ細かい気泡がつくことを表した「泡の湯」や、蛇が教えてくれた温（ぬく）たまりの湯という意味の「蛇穴の湯」、「あらたまの湯」など、情緒ある号と泉質は、湯めぐりの楽しみのひとつだ。
