温泉の名物

大町のご当地グルメ「黒部ダムカレー」
「黒部ダムカレー」は、黒部ダムをモチーフにしたご当地グルメで、アーチ型ライスがルーをせき止めているのが基本形。黒部ダムの建設現場で作業員の心と体を温めたカレーは、その後昭和40年代初頭から「アーチカレー」として提供され続けているが、2009年7月に、大町市の観光・地域振興を目的に「黒部ダムカレー」という名称で7店舗が参加して販売を開始。今では約20店舗に増え、メディアでも話題になっている。

温泉のあれこれ

秋そばが食せる「新行新そばまつり」
大町市の新行地区は、標高1000mという高地で寒暖の差が激しく、そば作りにとってはうってつけの環境となっている。毎年10月には、新行で秋に採れたばかりのそば粉を使った、「走りの秋そば」が食せる「新行新そばまつり」が開催され、そばまつりに加盟している民宿やそば店などで、新そばが味わえる。そば食い大会や「ぐるっとそば処スタンプラリー」も行われ、期間中は全国からそば好きが大勢訪れる。
