温泉の名物

温泉オリジナルの菓子の詰め合わせ
渋温泉街には、手作りの菓子店がたくさんあり、店ごとに職人こだわりの商品を出している。外湯巡りの後は、色浴衣に着替え、好みのお菓子を探して温泉街を散策するのも楽しい。そこで活躍するのが、お菓子箱「いとをかし箱」。小さな仕切りが9つあり、好きなお菓子を集めて自分だけの詰め合わせが作れる。仕切のうち2つが少し大きめにできているのも親切。思い出を詰めたオリジナルのお土産は、きっと喜ばれるはず。

温泉のあれこれ

武田信玄ゆかりの温泉寺
伝説によれば、渋温泉は1300年前に行基が開湯。戦国時代には武田信玄の隠し湯のひとつとなった。信玄は温泉街にある温泉寺に70貫文を寄進し、本堂を整備させた。以来温泉寺は、信玄公を開基としている。川中島の戦いの折には、傷ついた兵士を療養させており、寺紋が武田菱になっているのはそのためで、信玄直筆の安堵状は寺宝。境内には「信玄竈風呂」という、珍しい和風サウナがある。
