Tourist Attraction Information

Highlights

温泉の名物

名物グルメ「秋保おはぎ」
スーパー「主婦の店　さいち」で販売している「秋保おはぎ」は温泉名物。無添加素材で手作りされ、北海道産の上質な小豆、宮城県産のもち米、そして味付けはシンプルに塩と砂糖のみ。お米の粒感に、控えめながらもほどよい甘さが絶妙。「粒餡」は餡がしっかりとまぶされ圧巻の食べ応え。そのほか「きな粉」「ごま」のバリエーションがある。1日約5000個も売れるという人気商品で、消費期限も当日限りなので、現地でぜひ入手して味わいたい。(出展：公益社団法人宮城県観光連盟)

温泉のあれこれ

古墳時代後期から続く歴史ある温泉
秋保温泉の歴史は古く、欽明天皇の頃、古墳時代の後期頃に始まったと言われている。欽明天皇は、皮膚病を完治させたことを喜び、歌にも表している。以後、「拾遺集」「大和物語」などにも歌われた。その後、秋保温泉は皇室の御料温泉の一つとして位置づけられ、別所温泉（信濃御湯）、野沢温泉（犬養御湯）と共に「日本三御湯」と称されるようになった。（出典：一般社団法人秋保地域活性化協議会）
