「ウツボのたたき」は土佐の代表的な珍味。土佐の荒波で育ったウツボを、薪でじっくり中まで焼き上げる。淡白でありながら脂がのって豊潤、磯魚なのに臭みもなく、身はプリッ、皮はパリッとした独特な歯ごたえは、一度食べると忘れられない、ウツボの持つ独特の旨味は、身を守る厚い皮から皮下に広がるゼラチン質にある。コラーゲンも豊富で、漁師たちには滋養強壮の食材として知られていた。二杯酢でもニンニクの葉入りぬたでもおいしい。

松林が続く月の名所で風流な夜宴
琴ヶ浜は、県下でも有数の月の名所。毎年中秋の名月の頃、この地で秋の夜長を楽しむイベント「琴ヶ浜松原観月の宴」が行われる。雄大な太平洋から白い波が打ち寄せる浜で、延々と続く松林をバックに、太鼓の演奏に耳を傾けながら、月見を楽しむ。篝火に映し出された勇壮な和太鼓の演奏も圧巻だ。
