小涌谷温泉の大庭園を彩る初夏の花々
「蓬莱園」は小涌谷温泉を開墾した三河屋旅館の初代当主が、大正初めに築いた約6万6000㎡もの広大な庭園。春の梅、桜に始まり、秋の紅葉まで楽しめる景勝地だが、5月～6月上旬にかけて咲き誇る、数十種約3万株のツツジとサツキの花どころとして知られ、シーズンには「小涌谷温泉つつじフェア」が開催される。純和風の回遊式庭園にはヤマユリなども見られ、斜面を埋めるツツジやサツキの花色と、初夏の緑がなんとも美しい。

箱根の源泉とアートを一緒に楽しむ足湯
「箱根彫刻の森美術館」は、自然と芸術が調和する屋外の美術館。緑に包まれた約7万㎡の敷地には、世界的な巨匠などの芸術作品約100点が展示され、四季折々の箱根の景観との美しいハーモニーが素晴らしく、ピカソ館などのじっくり鑑賞できる屋内展示施設も並ぶ。敷地の一角に、箱根ならではの良質の温泉が湧き出しており、長さ20m、幅70cmのおしゃれな足湯「ほっとふっと」で、アートとともに源泉掛け流しの湯が楽しめる。
