宿の名物、真っ黒な温泉たまご
藤七温泉名物といえば、宿のフロントで売られている「味付黒温泉卵」。湧いている源泉の温度が90度なのでそのまま卵が茹でられる。外観が真っ黒なのは、温泉に含まれている鉄分と卵の殻が結びついたから。塩加減、半熟具合ともに絶妙で、これを食しつつビールを飲むのが滞在中の楽しみのひとつ。

温泉のあれこれ

美しさを八幡大菩薩に感謝した地
藤七温泉からほど近い八幡沼は八幡平山頂付近にあり、八幡平の湖沼の中で最も大きな火口湖沼。アオモリトドマツやオオシラビソ、コメツガなどの原生林に囲まれ神秘的だ。沼の周辺は、ミズバショウやニッコウキスゲ、チングルマ、ワタスゲなどの高山植物が、雪解けから夏まで次々と咲いていく。木道が整備されているため、道に迷うことなく軽装で一周できるので、自然の中の散策を満喫したい。
