素朴さがうける味噌せんべい
国見温泉の石塚旅館で売られている「国見温泉みそせんべい」は、丸い形で、味は甘め。味噌が主張し過ぎず、素朴な瓦せんべいのよう。サクサクとした歯ごたえは、せんべいというよりもクッキーに近い。何といってもほっとさせる素朴さに、つい手がのびてしまう。ここでしか手に入らないので、ぜひともお土産に買って帰りたい。

花の百名山「秋田駒ヶ岳」への登山口
国見温泉は、名峰・秋田駒ヶ岳の登山ルートにあることから、多くの登山客が利用する。山頂までは約2時間半。四季折々の彩り、訪れるたびに美しい表情を見せる雄大な山並み、日本最大級のコマクサの群生地、大きな池などが目を楽しませてくれる。山頂一帯に咲くヒナザクラやタカネスミレ、コマクサ、エゾツツジなど数百種類の高山植物群は、秋田駒ヶ岳高山植物帯として国の天然記念物に指定されている。
