日本の伝統工芸「輪島塗」
輪島市で生産される漆器「輪島塗」は、下地を何層にも厚く施した丈夫さに重きをおいて作られる漆器。室町時代にはすでに存在していたとされ、江戸時代、享保期頃より今のような技術が確立し、日本の伝統工芸となっている。最も人気が高いのは箸で、重箱、椀、花器、茶器なども定番商品。珍しいところではボールペンや名刺入れなどもある。「漆アミューズメント塗太郎」などで体験もできる。
