Tourist Attraction Information

The area is dotted with scenic spots such as Mt. Tomuratushi, one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, the Hakuundai Observatory overlooking Mt. Tokachi, and the highland marshes and Numa no Hara.

北海道ならではの動物たちとの出会い
手つかずの自然が残り、原生林に囲まれた渓流沿いに建つトムラウシ温泉の一軒宿には、セキレイやクマゲラなどの野鳥をはじめとした動物たちが多くやってくる。なかでも冬になると集まってくる北海道の保護獣・エゾクロテンは、宿を訪れる人たちの人気者。また、ナキウサギの日本最大の生息地であるトムラウシ山にも多くの生き物が生息し、エゾシマリスやサンショウウオに出会える可能性も。ナキウサギはガレ場で多く見られる。
