Tourist Attraction Information

Shikabe Fishing Port and Hyotan Numa Park are great viewing points for Mt. Komagatake. Dekima Coast, with its cliffs created by the eruption, is also a must-see.

温泉の名物

鹿部たらこは、おいしいたらこの代名詞
鹿部町の特産品といえば、噴火湾や太平洋から水揚げされる四季折々の魚介類。その中でも、全国的に有名なのが、一粒一粒がきめ細かくおいしいと評判の鹿部たらこだ。2012年からは、「鹿部たらこ祭り」も開催。生たらこをはじめ、たらこを使った料理とご飯の食べ放題や直売が行われるだけでなく、鹿部町内の日帰り温泉がどこでも300円で楽しめたり、しかべ間歇泉公園が無料開放されるなど、町全体をあげたイベントとなっている。

温泉のあれこれ

周期的に温泉が噴き出す大迫力の間歇泉
1924年に偶然見つかった鹿部町の間歇泉は、約100度にもなる温泉が地下26mから地上15m以上まで噴き上がる。噴出量は500リットルにも及ぶ。その間歇泉を中心に整備されたのが、「しかべ間歇泉公園」。園内には、噴き上げる間歇泉を間近で見られる「眺望の館」があり、駒ヶ岳や天候次第で羊蹄山、室蘭市まで望める。また、間歇泉温泉を利用した足湯もあり、そこから間歇泉を観察することも可能。
