温泉の名物

松前から生まれた北海道を代表する珍味
スルメと昆布、数の子を醤油をベースにしたタレに漬け込んだ北海道の郷土料理「松前漬」は、松前藩（現在の松前町）が発祥の地。松前漬は、スルメがその味を左右するといわれるが、松前スルメは肉厚の一級品だけに、松前漬の味も間違いない。昆布のぬめり、スルメと数の子の歯ごたえが絶妙な、北海道の代表珍味は、お酒にもご飯にもよく合う。また、数の子を入れず、スルメと昆布だけで作られた松前漬もある。

250種1万本が咲く道内きっての桜の名所
桜の名所として知られる松前。藩政時代に藩主の奥方や城下の商人たちが故郷を偲んで植樹したり、参勤交代の際に江戸から持ち帰られたのが始まりだという。時代が変わっても、接ぎ木による増殖や収集、品種改良が行われ、松前は道内きっての名所になった。松前には250種類1万本もの桜があり、4月中旬～5月中旬頃まで町内各所で次々に花を咲かせる。なかでも、約140種480本もが集まる桜見本園のある松前公園は絶好の桜スポットだ。
