温泉の名物

効能が高いと評判の温泉の華
同じ源泉の玉川温泉で採取された湯の花に、分散剤として天然のカオリン（白土）を加えただけの入浴剤が「玉川温泉の華」。強酸性の温泉である玉川温泉は、ほとばしる熱湯を長い桶に流すと、空気に触れて熱湯中の湯の華が少しずつ桶の表面に付着する。これを月に1回採集し、乾燥させるという自然付着の方式で作られた湯の華は、粒子が極めて細かく、皮膚によく作用しやすいという。ぜひとも買って帰りたいお土産だ。

温泉のあれこれ

正しい温熱浴の入浴法で効能アップ
玉川温泉は岩盤浴で知られ、新玉川温泉も同様の温熱浴ができる。この方法は地熱のある場所を選び、ゴザを敷いて横になる。タオルや毛布を体の上にかけて、熱を逃がさないようにする。これを1回30～40分程度、1日1～2回行う。注意事項は、低温やけど防止に、時折体の向きを変えること。また、大量の汗をかくのでトレーナーなどの軽装にする、水分補給用の飲み物を持参する、疲れている時は時間を短めにする、などが挙げられる。
