Ise Grand Shrine has two main shrines, the Geku and Naiku. It is an ancient custom to visit the two shrines in the order Geku to Naiku.
In addition, after visiting each main shrine, it is considered a more respectful visit to make a pilgrimage to the surrounding "annex shrines."

Ise Grand Shrine is the spiritual home of the Japanese people, where Amaterasu Omikami, the most sacred deity in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, is enshrined. The Inner Shrine enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, and the Outer Shrine enshrines Toyouke Omikami, who is in charge of Amaterasu Omikami's Meals, and these two shrines are the highlights.

There is no specific best season to visit, so you can feel a sense of solemnity no matter when you visit. However, you can enjoy different aspects depending on the season, such as cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and first shrine visits of the year.
