A tour to the Reizei family residence, a nobleman's home that is only open to the public five days a year.

The Reizei family is descended from Fujiwara no Teika, the compiler of the Shin Kokin Wakashū (New Collection of Ancient and Modern Japanese Poetry).
The Reizei family residence is the only remaining aristocratic residence in its complete form, and although it is usually closed to the public, it is open to the public for five days a year.
Take this opportunity to fully appreciate the profound world of Japanese culture.

  • Visitors are not allowed to enter (go up) the Reizei family residence. Viewing is limited to peeking into the building from the outside while staying on the grounds.
