Kamikochi regulates the use of private cars all year round. To get to Kamikochi, we recommend taking a tour by bus or train.
Due to winter closures, Kamikochi is usually accessible from late Apr. to Nov. 15. The best seasons are mid ~ late Jun. May. when you can enjoy the remaining snow and fresh greenery, and mid ~ early Nov. Oct. when the leaves are beautiful.
This hiking route takes in the main spots of Taisho Pond, Tashiro Marsh, Kappa Bridge, Myojin Pond, and Tokusawa. For those who are not confident in their physical strength, we recommend the "Taisho Pond - Kappa Bridge - Myojin Pond" course, which walks from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge and back to Myojin Pond, as it is flat and offers a variety of scenery.
