大自然が作り出す「神の橋」
広島県庄原市東城町と神石郡神石高原町にまたがる国定公園・帝釈峡は、中国山地の中央に位置する全長約18キロメートルの峡谷。
帝釈峡は北部の上帝釈エリアと、紺碧の湖面上に真紅の橋が印象的な神龍湖を中心とした神龍湖エリアに大きく分けられます。特に上帝釈峡エリアの観光スポット「雄橋」は圧巻。隆起と浸食作用によってできた長さ90メートル、幅19メートル、高さ40メートルもある天然の橋で「神の橋」とも呼ばれる国の天然記念物です。
