水辺に広がる幻想的な風景

「篠栗九大の森」は、篠栗町と九州大学が共同で整備・管理を行っている、約17haの広大な森です。森の中心の池に浮かぶのが、円柱の巨木、ラクウショウ。根元が水につかった状態で自生し、水面からは幹の周りに呼吸するための呼吸根が伸びてきて、その姿はどこか幻想的。
