初夏のわずかな期間だけ、八幡平の鏡沼に現れる神秘的な自然現象「八幡平ドラゴンアイ」。雪解けが進むことで、まるで巨大な龍の眼のような模様が浮かび上がります。年によって表情が変わるため、同じ姿には二度と出会えない一期一会の絶景です。例年5月下旬から6月中旬頃が見頃となる、初夏の東北を代表する人気観光スポットです。
