幻の城と称される赤木城跡

大型バスでは行けない秘境。築城の名手・藤堂高虎によって作られた、中世と近世の築城法を併用した平山城で、近世城郭の萌芽ともいうべき城郭機能が兼ね備えられています。
また、朝もやに浮かぶ城跡は、幻想的で「天空の城」とも言われています。主郭には桜が多く、桜の名所としても知られています。
