Hot springs near Zao

Zao Onsen, Yamagata Prefecture

山形蔵王の温泉は、空気に触れ酸化が進むとお湯の色が乳白色になる特性を持っています。きりきず・やけどに効能があるのはもちろんのこと、疲労回復・健康増進の効用もございます。

Miyagi Prefecture, Togatta Onsen

宮城蔵王の温泉は不動滝の大うなぎが三階滝の大ガニとの戦いに敗れ、切られた尾がこの地に流れついたことから、それにより足腰の病に効くといわれています。

Zao Echo Line

蔵王エコーラインは、蔵王連峰を東西に横断し、宮城県と山形県をつなぐ山岳道路です。
4月下旬の開通から5月中旬頃までは雪の壁をお楽しみいただけます。夏の新緑にはドライブがおすすめです。9月下旬頃になると木々が赤や黄色に染まり、まさに絶景です。東北を代表する紅葉名所を、是非一度ご覧ください。

※11月初旬から翌年4月下旬までは冬季閉鎖されます。

Rime-covered trees (winter only)

秋の紅葉の時季もおすすめですが、冬の蔵王といえばアイスモンスターと呼ばれる樹氷です。ロープウェイから見おろす白銀に輝く樹氷や、色彩豊かな照明で闇の中に浮き上がる夜間ライトアップ。幻想的な世界に迷い込んだような雰囲気を味わえます。
