尾道(おのみち)

尾道は、古い町並みが残り、ノスタルジックな佇まいを見せる坂の町です。大林宣彦監督作品のロケ地としても知られるこの地。坂道や路地を歩きながら、映画のワンシーンに思いを馳せては？

しまなみ海道

尾道と愛媛県今治市を結ぶしまなみ海道は、個性的な6つの島を巡ることができる橋です。
自転車、徒歩でも渡ることができるので、瀬戸内の風に吹かれながらのんびりと散策を。

倉敷(くらしき)

倉敷美観地区・本町・東町の町並みは、古き情緒を今も色濃く受け継いでます。

小豆島(しょうどしま)

面積は、153.2km2、海岸線の延長は125.7km。資料によっては小豆郡の面積は170km2と表示されているのもあります。 最高峰は、星ヶ城山の817m。瀬戸内海の島の中で1番高い山です。小豆島も世界一狭い土渕海峡部分で小豆島本島と前島に分かれていて、現在3つの橋と1つの公園で繋がっています。

呉(大和ミュージアム・てつのくじら館)

戦艦「大和」は、昭和16(1941)年12月、呉海軍工廠(海軍直轄の工場)で、当時の最先端技術の集大成でありながら極秘裏に建造された世界最大の戦艦です。10分の1戦艦「大和」は、平和の大切さと科学技術の素晴らしさを後世に語り継いでいます。

三原(みはら)

三原市は、中国地方の広島県のほぼ山陽沿岸の中央に位置し、瀬戸内海の温暖な気候に恵まれた街です。JR山陽本線や呉線、瀬戸内の島嶼部への船、また、本郷町には、広島空港があり、交通の要所としての役割を果しています。瀬戸内海の島々の眺望はすばらしく、天候に恵まれれば、四国山脈をも見渡すことができます。写真は竜王山から見たしまなみです。

備中松山城

重要文化財である大天守は、三重三階地下一階の層塔型(そうとうがた)天守で、黒船来航の翌年落成した江戸時代最後の完全な城郭(じょうかく)建築です。また、「現存12天守」の中で、唯一、築城主として瓦には葵の御紋が付されています。大天守、小天守、隅櫓(すみやぐら)を廊下で互いに結び、武備(ぶび)に徹したこの天守建造物群は、代表的な連立式城郭といわれています。
