[Departing from Kansai] Sado Island Tour/Sado Island Trip <World Cultural Heritage Site>

Sado Island can be accessed from Niigata Port or Naoetsu Port by Sado Kisen's car ferry or jetfoil. The journey from Niigata Port to Ryotsu Port takes approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes by jetfoil and approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes by car ferry. The journey from Naoetsu Port to Ogi Port takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes by car ferry.

Sado Island offers its own charm throughout the four seasons, and you can enjoy it all year round. In spring~summer, you can enjoy flower viewing and trekking; in autumn, you can enjoy Autumn foliage and seasonal delicacies; and in winter, you can enjoy gourmet foods like winter yellowtail. The peak viewing period for Tobishima lilies (typically late May. ~ early Jun.) is recommended.

For tours of 2 nights or more, we will provide accommodation near Niigata Station. You will travel to Sado the next day. Tours of 1 night will be canceled.

Popular attractions include the World Cultural Heritage sites such as the Sado Gold Mine Site, Kitazawa Flotation Processing Plant Ruins, Sukunegi, tub boats, Senkaku Bay, and Toki no Mori Park. The appeal of sightseeing in Sado is that you can enjoy history, culture, spectacular views, and experiences all at once.

Sado Island has a coastline of about 280 km, making it the second largest island in Japan after Okinawa Island. Tourist spots are scattered throughout the island, so if you want to enjoy sightseeing while touring, more than 1 night / 2 days is recommended.

Currently, it is believed that there are no wild bears living on Sado Island. Therefore, compared to mountainous tourist destinations on Honshu, the risk of encountering bears is lower, making it easier to enjoy nature walks and sightseeing, which is one of the attractions of Sado Island. However, when walking on mountain trails or in natural areas, please enjoy your sightseeing safely while paying attention to your footing and the weather.

When sightseeing on Sado Island, it's recommended to choose clothing appropriate for the season and the attractions you're visiting. In spring and autumn, mornings and evenings can be chilly, so it's a good idea to bring a light jacket. Summer has a relatively pleasant climate, but a hat and a light cardigan are useful for sun protection. In winter, the sea breeze can make it chilly, so be sure to dress warmly. Also, since you'll be doing a lot of walking around places like the Sado Gold Mine, sightseeing spots, and coastal areas, it's recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes.

When traveling to Sado Island, it's important to prepare according to the season and the type of sightseeing you plan to do. Essential items to bring include comfortable walking shoes, comfortable clothing, and a jacket or rain gear to cope with changing weather. In sunny seasons, a hat and sunscreen are recommended, and for sightseeing along the coast, a windproof jacket is also a good idea. Additionally, since you will be traveling by ferry, it's a good idea to bring motion sickness medication.
