Spring: It doesn't snow much in Mar., but it's still cold, so we recommend wearing a warm coat or knitwear. You still need a jacket in Apr., but in May. a light jacket will suffice.
Early summer: May. to Jun. is comfortable, so a long-sleeved shirt or a short-sleeved shirt is fine on hotter days.
Summer: From Jul. to Aug., the temperature rises dramatically, so short sleeves or sleeveless clothing is best. It's a good idea to bring a parasol to protect yourself from the sun.
Autumn: In early Sep., you will be fine with just a thin jacket, but from late Sep. to early Oct. you will need a jacket or cardigan. Also, in late Nov., it will get cold enough that you will need winter clothes such as a coat.
Winter: Kanazawa gets very cold in the winter, so it's essential to prepare for the cold. Of course, you'll need a coat, scarf, and gloves, but it's also useful to have boots or rubber boots in case it snows.
