手筒花火発祥の地である豊橋市の「炎の祭典」は、手筒花火を中心に多彩な花火が楽しめます。
愛知県東三河地域の手筒花火は、火薬を詰めた竹筒を抱え、火の粉を体に浴びながら打上げるもので、10本以上の手筒花火が一斉に約10mの高さに噴き上がるのは他にはないスケールです。
