長崎県の西に浮かぶ大小約150の島々からなる五島列島。
主な5島の南3島の福江島、久賀島、奈留島と周辺の島々を「下五島」と呼びます。福江島には潜伏キリシタンの歴史が息づく教会堂が点在しています。長崎県五島列島の北部に位置する「上五島」の大部分は西海国立公園に指定されており、中でも海岸の断崖の眺望と西海岸に広がる若松瀬戸は言葉を呑むほどの絶景です。
