What is the Yosakoi Festival?
よさこい祭り（イメージ）
不景気風を吹き飛ばし市民を元気づけようと行われたのが祭りの始まりとされています。よさこい発祥の地である高知市では、毎年8月10日・11日のよさこい祭り本番に約190チーム、約2万人の踊り子が参加します。個性溢れる衣装や音楽、振り付けで、高知市内の各競演場や演舞場で熱気溢れる踊りを披露します。8月9日には、よさこい祭り前夜祭と土佐学生よさこい大会、12日にはよさこい祭り後夜祭とよさこい全国大会が開催されています。
